September 2022 project update

The information below is the September 2022 project update newsletter and is intended to share information related to the ShopUW+ / Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Project. You may share this information with colleagues. Additional information related to the project can be found on ShopUW+ Essentials Phase 2 Updates.

Sourcing and Contracts+ module update

The Sourcing and Contracts+ teams provided demonstrations of the two modules to a group of primary purchasing/procurement staff from across the UW System. The demos provided a basic overview of the concepts and functions of the ShopUW+ Sourcing and Contracts+ functions.

The Sourcing demo covered the basic concepts of Sourcing, how to create, evaluate, and award an RFP/RFB. The Contracts covered the basic concepts of Contracts+, turn a sourcing event into a contract, and creating a contract.

October 17 is the targeted launch of these modules. Watch the newsletter and ShopUW+ Essentials for more information. All training information related to Sourcing and Contracts+ will be available at ShopUW+ Training Resources around launch time.

ChemManager+ is live August 22

The ChemManager+ module was deployed Aug. 22 at UW-Milwaukee (4 pilot departments), UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Oshkosh as part of the Wave 1 project installation. The ChemManager+ module ties a robust chemical tracking system with an enhanced purchasing tool to aid in safety and risk mitigation. This tool for managing chemicals– used by research, instructional, safety and risk staff–integrates with ShopUW+.

ChemManager+ users can get training information at ShopUW+ Training Resources and get more information on the ChemManager+ page.

Spend Analytics update

The Spend Analytics module was deployed in the beginning of September and is targeted at the Purchasing Directors. This tool aggregates and normalizes spend data from the ERP, P-card application, and ShopUW+, providing institutions a near real-time view of spend data.

Updated navigation on ShopUW+ Essentials

Starting October 17, some navigation changes will be made on ShopUW+ Essentials to make it easier to find links to the new business function resources, add a more visible link for Suppliers to find resources, and remove links to Phase 2 project updates.

On the top red navigation bar, the New Functions and Phase 2 Updates tabs will be removed. A Supplier Resources tab will be added. Under a Quick Links box, the links to the new business function resources will be added.
